School yet?

Our levy failed again. The kids will have no gym, music or art and will have school for one less hour per day. There will be limited busing and many teachers have been let go. The system needs to be funded differently.

Anyway, I just walked past Emily's bedroom and smelled a powerful whiff of nail polish remover. Apparently she spilled the remover and just went about her business. Now the hard wood is somewhat ruined. Jay is in there scraping and trying to fix it. Ughhhh.

Meanwhile, Tara was playing school with me and accidentally socked me square in the jaw with one of her toys. I saw stars for a second. She's quite the little bruiser.

It's time for them to go back to school. It really is.

Unbelievable!

How can people care so little about children?

Although, I can understand if they’re poor/on a fixed income and barely getting by as it is.

You’re right; the system needs to be funded (& managed) better.

I wish there was a way for ALL children to get EVERY opportunity to succeed. But I can’t think of a way that wouldn’t require a major overhaul of our national values and way of life.

“sigh”

It is weird; thinking of their school having no music, art or gym. Especially music - they need to go watch Mr. Holland's Opus.

As for Tara punching people, oh yes. She has gotten me with a few doozies. What is going on?
