Right now the girls are playing with a neighbor girl. She just showed up and had her pet rat with her. Ewwww. But I managed to look interested.
Then she came back and asked if she could stay and play. Of course I said yes. But inside I was saying, " Oh crap, the house is a bit cluttered. " I don't think she cared but I do. And of course they played hide and seek and got into every dusty corner and closet. I was trying to keep them out of certain areas where Santa left some stuff....
Don't even get me started on their messy rooms.... Ugh..... When the house is perfect, no one shows up. When you have your hair in the proverbial curlers, here comes the company! :)

It’s all in the eye of the beholder ya know.
Let’s see…who trashes the planet, wipes out whole species (when they’re not killing each other), and struts around like they’re the only ones who matter?

Whoops! I mean rats are wonderful creatures....nope, just can't do it. Rats are nasty! But not you Rattus. You get a pass. :) And I know humans are much nastier. It's just that, well, rats are so big and creepy.
It was an odd moment, but I guess it's nice to be trusted by the parents of our childrens' friends: That girl's mom literally left that child on our doorstep, with nary an explanation as to who, what, where, when or why.
