Ye Annual Ritual Of The Backpack

School? Bring it.

Nametags from Cleveland Zoo (the camera blurred this one)

Lovin' life.

The girls got to pick their backpacks for the coming school year. Emily picked Barbie and Tara picked Hannah Montana. Inside are all their school supplies, each individually nametagged of course. We have done this every year, because aside from any practicality we admit it is also very fun.

It's coming way too fast. I do love school shopping though!

ahh fresh pencils, blank pages, new crayons and a new homework/calendar/to-do pad.

Refresh my memory, what grades are the girls going into?

Emily is going into 4th grade and Tara is going into 2nd grade.

Since another school in our district closed this year due to budget cuts, Emily is now going to a new school in the district. Instead of k-4 in one building, 5-6 in another... now Em will be with the 5th and 6th graders. I'm not so sure that will be a good thing. Sixth graders are very different than fourth graders. Dang levies.

I still dread the "revised list" the schools will probably give us. They will likely ask each child to bring the school a year's supply of bathroom tissue, a new desk, a new laptop computer and one SMART-board.
