Our church has small groups called Thrive groups. We get together in people's homes every couple of weeks. This past weekend our group got together at a new house. This young couple's house was built in 1920 and had a beautiful enclosed front porch where Emily and Tara were playing with other kids. A few minutes into the meeting Tara walked in and sheepishly said she spilled her salsa and chips. We go to investigate and see that there is salsa EVERYWHERE on the porch. It doesn't seem scientifically possible that it could have spilled that much. It's a good thing the floor was easily cleaned.
Apparently, one kid grabbed Tara by the neck causing her to "have to" put the paper plate full of salsa and chips in her mouth, thereby causing it to fly out of her mouth onto the floor. It sounds like she was a human salsa sprinkler. Ugh. I don't think we'll be invited back any time soon.

Funny you should say salsa. I made some today. I will be very careful with it. I am sure they know kids are kids...No worries
Making salsa?? Missy, did you keep your daughter out of trouble with that infernal red substance?
Because, it was just amazing what Tara did. It looked like a bad crime scene. Crimson shards and chunks everywhere. The plate...face-down (of course) on the floor. Spillage over twenty-feet in diameter. Half the salsa further smashed into the ground, crushed asunder by these feral children. This was at someone's NEW HOME, which we had not yet even been inside of for fifteen minutes. I wanted to climb inside a giant orb of self-pity and pray for it to shrink me away into a parallel universe.
Don't feel guilty - these people gave kids SALSA!!!
What were they thinking?
Obviously, they weren't thinking. They don't have kids so they don't know the dangers, that's understandable. But there's no quilt or shame in children just being kids.
If the couple has issues with it then that's there problem and believe me they be sinking a different tune when they have kids of their own.
